Dr. Firat Evirgen is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Balikesir University, Turkey. He has been a member of the university's faculty since completing his Ph.D. in Mathematics at Balikesir University in 2009. His research interests include nonlinear optimization, continuous optimization, fractional calculus, mathematical modeling, and optimal control theory.

He serves as a Managing Editor for Mathematical Modelling and Numerical Simulation with Applications and Bulletin of Biomathematics, and as an Associate Editor for An International Journal of Optimization and Control: Theories & Applications.

Prof. Evirgen has published numerous articles in journals such as AIMS Bioengineering, Fractals, Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics, Discrete & Continuous Dynamical Systems-S, Fractal and Fractional, and the Bulletin of the Malaysian Mathematical Sciences Society. He has also contributed book chapters and edited books published by well-known publishers such as Springer and World Scientific.

Through his research, publications, and teaching, Prof. Evirgen continues to contribute to the development of mathematical sciences and the academic community.
